Some of the largest cities in the United States of America take advantage of indoor parking facilities. Not surprisingly, the core downtown areas lack any open space that could be transformed into surface-style lots. Expensive land discourages investments in small parking lots that simply don’t have any growth potential. A busy area in the heart of a city should only utilize a multi-level parking facility that accommodates the local traffic flow. The rooftop of the garage could include a flat surface with additional parking spaces. However, all spaces inside and on top of a garage are subject to the same rates throughout the day. Such indoor facilities near major businesses should ideally have elevators for enhanced convenience.
Suburban Parking Lots
Suburbs generally have plenty of land that could be quickly developed and paved for commercial application. Parking solutions in such communities must adhere to the local ordinances and other codes that are managed by the municipalities. The entire perimeter of a store or warehouse could be surrounded by a paved surface with lots of parking spaces for passenger vehicles. Suburban parking solutions in commercial plazas must also have sufficient space for large trucks that make deliveries. The asphalt and concrete materials will be carefully selected to withstand the projected loading and damage from heavy-duty vehicles. In terms of security, outdoor parking lots in suburban communities are generally safe throughout normal business hours. However, security cameras and other surveillance systems should still be installed at any public parking lot.
